First up was Azabu Sabo at Clark Quay Central Mall, first floor.
There we found interesting flavours such as Sea Salt & Caramel and Banana Chocolate. The first is a newly introduced flavour so we tried that and Passion Fruit. All of us feel that both are great but if you ask me, I think Sea Salt & Caramel is the way to go as the sweetness and saltiness are just right! By the way, 1 scoop costs $3.80 (in cup) & 4.30 (on cone)
Next, of course not wanting to lose to the other group (met them at Azabu), we went to Lift Gelato at basement 1.
Here, we found interesting flavours like XO Cranberry, Maple Walnut (haha Hui Yun) and Nutty Professor! But we tried Rocher, which derives its name from Ferrero Rocher I think, and tastes exactly like that---fragrant and yummy. The perfect comfort food =D The price of 1 scoop is $3.80 and 2 scoops: $4.50
Leaving Central Mall we went to another part of Clark Quay, the eating places frequented by tourists. This place has colourful and beautiful shop fronts and some of us, like Sheryne and Jia Xin, found themselves busy taking photos. Shi Hui had to leave early (we miss you!)
Ok, here we went to Haagen-Dazs and Nectarie-le’ Dessert Patisserie. For Haagen-Dazs, the ice-cream flavours are quite common-place but strawberry shortcake does seem interesting to us! We bought that and it really tastes great (I personally can’t remember its taste though..hehe..). Anyway, Jia Xin had a taste of its Green Tea ice-cream too. It is unlike most green tea ice-cream, which is mostly sweet, retaining very little of its original taste and fragrance. This version is very authentic, not really bitter. Definitely worth trying!
Price for 1 scoop is $4.90 (a bit expensive) and $7.90 for 2 scoops
Of course, besides pricing, we customers looked out for the quality of customer service. In both Gelato and Haagen-Dazs, the staff are friendly and helpful. Knowing that we are on a marathon (albeit one where we eat, not run), the first switched off the signboard’s lights for us to take a good picture and the other gave us street directions!
Talking about customer service, we didn’t get friendly service at our next stop: Nectarie-le’ Dessert Patisserie (also in Clark Quay).
There, we all got attracted to the beautiful orange-red colour of Blood Orange Sherbet! Sadly it didn’t taste fantastic lah…To me, its like the common orange-flavoured ice-cream while some say its like smoothie. You got to try it for yourself to decide. But wait, never try its green tea ice-cream. While the prices are reasonable, at $4.00 per scoop, the green tea’s bitterness leaves a weird aftertaste. Jia Xin decided to try it because of her liking for green tea but, ah…bad choice.
After this, our group lost our way, yay! We wanted to head straight for City Hall but didn’t know where exactly to walk. Never mind though, because we had Damian and Royston singing ‘God will make a way’ mid-way. Haha, aren’t we a joyful bunch and we even recorded a video of this! =P After 20 minutes of walking, passing shop houses and condominiums and whatnot, we finally reached town: the Youthpark where people skateboard. Its also where Somerset MRT station is at and there Jia Xin bid goodbye.
After parting our dear jiaxin goodbye, we waste no time in searching for the nxt ice cream shop. According to the next group, by the time we reach somerset, we had onli 4 ice cream shops, but the next grp got......7!!!!!When we hear this, oh mans ounces of stregth begin to come to us, telling us not to give up, must win the next team!!:D
Hahas but well, we went as far to centrepoint and orchard emerald to search for the hope of just 1 ice cream shop to boost our morale, but our efforts were in vain!!:D though tiring as we are, we kept on encouraging each other never to give up and walked towards the direction of cineleisure in the hope of finding!!:D
Hahas we will say God is good all the time!!when we reached heeren, hahas, we spotted nydc!!:D Woohoo, it is as if we met a oasis in the midst of a desert!!without further discussion, webot a double choco chip!!initally, the waitress sae ice cream don hav DA BAO de, only can eat inside, but upon seeing us rushing here and there, decdied to make a cup of ice cream for us!!:D
Hahas, nydc ice cream is interesting becasue the ice creams are all homemade!! The double choco chip that we ordered had a thick choco taste, yummy to the max!!:D Interesting flavours include mango tango, nutty nougot and mocha almond fudge!!:D
Price of one scoop?=$3.50!! Price of double??=$3.50 X 2=$7!!
Next up, we know that cineleisure has its fair shrae of ice cream shops!!:D so we cross the road and the next stop is the japanese ice cream shop which u will see in spore nowadays: Uzumaki!!:D
According to reliable sources, this ice cream shop once creatd a craze in spore, but after a while, well oh wells, it died down opps!!:D hahas but well, thanks to sheryne, she had a $1 off discount card for this shop's ice cream!!:D We bot bubble milk tea ice cream, cool huh isnt it?:D hahas but mans, the ice cream taste weird with a substle taste of green tea!!and the best part is the pearl in the ice cream is "excellent"!!From our guess, this pearl could hav been made from thailand, bangkok rubber!!okies tats's bit exageration, but u all will know whta we mean!!:D
Neverthelss, we spotted a intersting flavour wich is babe wif seaweed, but as the proverbs say, once bitten twice shy!!hahas, we decided not to try tat shop ice cream animore!!:D
Our verdict.......................Waste of our hard-earned, sweat, blood, pain money ah!!!!! ;(

Hahas, as u hav read till now, u will hav realised that we actuali don consume anithing more other than ice cream, of cos, marathon means u eat till drop, eat till vomit, but we can always hear waves of sound booming like a 50watt amplifer in our stomachs!!all knew we were really hungry esp with the 1hr of walking frm clarke quay till orchard!!:D so so so, wif the time at the moment of time freeze at 2.55pm, with only 20 mins till we end the game, we chiong down to the basement foodcourt and grab our food!!:D
Hahas oh wells, we believed that this is one of the rare times that we find the food in foodcourt especially delicious!!:D whwn royston eat the fried bee hoon that was before him, it's as though he is in heaven; it's as though that fried bee hoon instantly turn to a bowl of shark fin wif a piece of japanese abalone on the top!!:D
Hahas, as we sat on the table toking and munching our food away, oh oh!!we spotted another ice cream shop just right in front of our eeys!!:D CREPES AND CREAM!!:d
Woohoo, we spotted another treasure!!:D so we went oppsitie and bot a mango cone ice cream!!! u never believe it, the ice cream is amazingly cheap and and the ice cream is nice too!!:D Besides, spotted some nice flavours like taro young coconut nd rocky road!!:D

Hhaas everything just happen so fast, by the time we see our watch, oh mans, its 320!!:D we immedietely hold on to our cones, cups and dash to the somerset station!!:D hahas guess by then, all our ice creams eaten since have been burnt away with all tat fast walking!!:D
Hahas, i guess that the most happening trip to expo!!we were all tired but nevertheless, we weree happy that we found 3 ice cream shops at orchard!!anticipation follows, for we do not know how much the other ice cream group have eaten, though we migth be guessing that they might win the first phase of the competiton!!:D hahas, when we reach expo, we immediately rush to the hall to find lx!!:D

Coming to think of it, this ice cream marathon though tiring, yet have bond us one way or another. We learn how to walk tgt and encourage each other when we lost our way, we learn not to ever give up and most importantly of all, we managed to savour some of spore best ice creams and realise that this is wad a cell group is all about; having fun tgt, encouraging and helping one another and of cos, loving our God wholeheartedly!!:D
